Product Description

Jeera biscuits are cumin flavoured cookies made with flour and butter. These are bakery products that are both salty and mildly sweet with roasted cumin flavour. They are crumbly and melt-in-mouth, golden beauties that require very basic ingredients. Jeera biscuits are quite popular in local bakeries all over India and are best served alongside hot cup of tea/coffee. Biscuits and Cookies form the major baked foods of total bakery products produced in the country. The bakery industry, production of which has been increasing steadily in the country, is the largest among the processed food industries in India. The contributing factors for the popularity of bakery products are reasonable product costs, greater nutritional quality, availability of varieties with different textural and taste profiles, and better taste. With the help of technology, baking methods have changed considerably eliminating the tedious manual work and it is currently an energy intensive industry. Bakery products still remain the cheapest of the processed ready to eat foods.

The ever-increasing number of working professionals, rising urbanisation, lifestyle changes, local availability of confectionary foods in small packages, affordability along with the growing popularity of convenience foods and increasing drive for hygiene, greater taste and consistency are also driving the market for Indian food Products. Thus the changing need of customers and diversity in Indian culture has created better opportunity in the food production and distribution system. As one of the largest segments in the food processing sector in India, the bakery industry offers huge opportunities for growth, innovation and in generating employment.

The proposed project is that of setting up of Jeera Biscuits Making Business unit at the proposed location. The growing population, increasing urbanization and rising consumerism has fuelled the demand for FMCG products in the market. Increasing internet penetration is also leading consumers to buy FMCG Products through online channels thus contributing to the growth in the Consumer market. The potential target customers and market for the proposed set-up would comprise of the customers of local Retail Stores, Departmental Stores, Convenience Stores, Supermarkets/ Hypermarkets, Tea Stalls, Fast Food Outlets, Restaurants, Hotels, Canteens and Online Stores etc.
